The suit slated to commenced on 26th January, 2016 at the Federal High Court Ikoyi Lagos commenced as scheduled while the lawyers representing the Applicants - Congress of Noun Students and the Respondents The National Open University were both present in court. However, the Respondent's Counsel pleaded more time for the preparation of their argument arguing that they were served of recent and their Chamber was briefed that early morning for the matter. The Judge thereafter had to adjourn hearing till February 2nd, 2016. It will be recalled that CONS main arguments are to challenge their expulsion from the university and as well compel the institution to grants the students the right to freedom of association as enshrined in the Constitution.
